Step dad called and told me that he was chased by a pack of wild ducks this morning. This is not a joke. It actually happened. He said he was walking by, and they all just started charging him. He said one of the ducks was named "Quid Pro Quo."

This call should have put me in good spirits. But it didn't make up for the fact that I had to drink fucking tea because we were out of coffee. Tea never does it for me.

They're all just dogs.

Step dad has taken to calling me on the phone when he is upstairs getting ready to sleep. He did it twice last night. No text messages in the last two days.

My step-dad writes a comic about a duck. He has been doing this for years, since I was in high school. The duck is named "Plebes" and he has friends. I am assuming here that Habeus Corpus, Ipso Facto, and Perpituity are all friends of his. Plebes owns a pancake shack and is constantly preoccupied with fiscal responsibility and clams.

My step-dad integrates Plebes and all of his friends in to everyday life and conversation. Sometimes I will get phone calls informing me that Plebes is upset with me. Or that Plebes is disappointed with me. It has also been made clear to me on several occasions that Plebes doesn't have thumbs.
